Copyright - Stay Safe

Everything must be entirely your own material, or shared in a documented fashion.

Law requires that we take down content on demand. We have no choice, no right to make a judgement, we have to take it down.

THEN we see about fighting about it.

Look at our copyright complaints page to see how it works, but the key thing is for you to have EVIDENCE that you have rights.

Collabs advice

  • Get BTS of people confirming the collab.
  • Get the RAW pre edit content. Or at least an unedited render.
  • If you get a take down because some idiot company hired by the guy you collabbed with 3 years ago issues a take down, THIS is the slam dunk, fuck it we’re putting it back up stuff.

Easy ways to stay safe

  • Avoid any brand names appearing in any staged location.
  • Street shot where a McDonalds is in the background and you are NOT having a Big Mac or talking about Md’s, or being porn, fine.
  • Huge Big Mac poster over the bed. Not fine.
  • Don’t use any music. Not even AI music.

You like risk?

If you use any other sources, document it and make sure you have the right licence and are compliant with all the terms (but basically, don't use other sources, don't use music).

Be Warned

If we notice a copyright risk, we might flag it to you and ask for your documentation or to take it out. We expect this to be mostly music, don’t use music, please…:-)
